As we all know, expenses mount very quickly at a time of bereavement. Community Credit Union offers insurance known as DBI or Death Benefit Insurance. Very simply, this policy pays a standard benefit of €2,600 to the person dealing with the funeral costs, in the event of the death of a member. For more information on this, please refer to our Services page and Free Insurance, visit any of the offices, or contact us at 01 838 6406.
Deposit Accounts are the second most common method for members to save. However, a member must hold €63.49 in shares before a deposit account can be opened. The maximum deposit a member may hold is €100,000. Please contact us or refer to our Savings section for more information.
After 3 years of planning, Community Credit Union was launched today to the communities of Dublin 7 and 15. Created out of Clonsilla and Premier Credit Unions, our goal is to offer even better value and services to our members than was possible when we were operating separately. It has come about because of our belief that by working together we achieve more than working on our own and we are delighted with the support that we have received from our members for this initiative.
At our recent Annual General Meeting a new Board of Directors was elected to govern Community Credit Union on behalf of its members. The board, which comprises 11 voluntary Directors, was drawn from the previous boards of Premier and Clonsilla Credit Unions, with each one contributing approximately 50% of the Directors on the new board.
Following the announcement of the merger, www.communitycu.ie was launched in January 2010 and will serve to facilitate and inform members with exciting interactive functions rolling out over the next few months, including an online Newsletter.
